Department Of Motor Vehicles
When I lived in the state of Pennsylvania, going to the Department of Motor Vehicles was always a nightmare. Even when living in a rural area, where you would think there were far less people to deal with, I always found the line there to be long and frustrating. The jokes you hear about the Department of Motor Vehicles are true. It is not an easy place to go, and when you get there, be prepared to stand in line with the great unwashed masses. I dont mean to be cruel, but does anyone shower before going to there?
Now that I live in New York, I find visiting the Department of Motor Vehicles to be a more pleasant experience. I live in a more populated area now, yet there never seems to be a long line. Im not sure why this is, but I am not going to complain about it either. It becomes even more baffling when you consider that some things you have to do at the Department of Motor Vehicles in New York can be done elsewhere in Pennsylvania. So in theory, there should be more of a crowd, but there never is for some reason.
No matter what state you live in, if you have to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles for any reason, there are ways to make your trip through a little faster. Go very early in the morning, and find out what days are the slowest. Also, have any paperwork you may need filled out and ready to go before you even walk in the door. A lot of wasted time spent at the Department of Motor Vehicles is due to people having to fill out forms, or not having them completely done.
If you dont want to make a special trip into the Department of Motor Vehicles just to pick up the forms you need, you have another time saving option. Most states have information online now, and you can download most of the forms you need. Unless you need something unusual done at the Department of Motor Vehicles, you can most likely find the paperwork you need to fill out on your states website. You can fill out the forms, and once you get there, you may find that you are in and out faster than you have ever been before. Just make sure you fill the forms out correctly, and have all the proper documentation when you go.
